WHO IS MALIK?

I'm an award winning Freelance Artist/Animator who's been professionally working in the field since 2016

My main focus is 2D animation but I also create logos and designs for businesses, and make artwork for commission.

I love to draw and animate cartoons. I've grown up loving cartoons and now I wanna grow old making them for the next generations.

​

My focus in Animation is 2D hand drawn, 2D Rigging and storyboard animation. I specialize in programs Toon Boom Harmony and TV paint Animation. And I'm well rounded in After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop.

2D ANIMATOR AT CBA STUDIOS

December 2018 - Present

  • Provided 2D animation work for Shorts, Ads, Music Videos, and more.

  • Projects consisted of Hand-Drawn animation, Toon Boom Puppet Rigging, crowd/background character animation and FX animation

  • Worked directly from storyboards and model sheets to keep timing correct and characters on model.

  • Work for people like: John Legend, Bleacher Report, Denzel Curry, Stanford Medical, More Than A Vote, Slam Magazine and More.

2D ANIMATION FOR BLACK BAR MITZVAH

March 2021 to October 2021

  • Created a 2 minute short film to a poem written by a former inmate.

  • Used animation to humanize their identity beyond their case, and bring their stories to life.

  • Created the Storyboard, Animation, Character Designs, Effects, and Backgrounds by myself

2D ANIMATION FOR SNKR INC. "THE COME UP" SERIES

August 2017 - March 2018

  • Created 2 to 3 minute animated shorts to go along with a storytelling interview

  • All Storyboarding, Frame by Frame Animation, Clean Up work, Backgrounds, and Coloring created by me.

  • Worked and created all assets from home

Sept 2013 - June 2017

Graduated from DePaul University to earn my Bachelors Degree in Animation with a concentration in Cinema Art. Finishing school with 3 short films and a whole bunch of side projects.
